BROAD RIPPLE, Ind. (WTHR) – Other big changes could soon be coming to Broad Ripple park, changes that some residents strongly oppose.
Indy Parks is hoping to replace the family center at Broad Ripple Park with one that also includes a health care clinic.
Plans call for a private developer to build the center. While the city wouldn’t sell any land, it would have to lease the building for the first few years.
Critics argue that’s wrong and that park space shouldn’t be used for any type of business.
Three developers have submitted bids for the project.
The city’s Metropolitan Development Commission is expected to make a decision at its April 3 meeting.
